The INGREEN project is helping the paper and agro-food industry to become more sustainable. In this video we explain how we will optimize the use of wheat and rye bran that is created during the milling process, whey that is a by-product of cheese making, and wastewater of paper milling factories. The project will use biotechnology to create new ingredients from these side stream compounds, which then can be used for foods, animal feed, pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals, cosmetics and packaging film. The biotechnologies developed by INGREEN will be tested in real operational environments to make sure that the project results are relevant for industry to achieve their sustainability goals.
Towards the end of the project, the main project results will be presented in a second video.
