Associação para a Inovação e Desenvolvimento da Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa (NOVA.ID.FCT) is a private non-profit research organization dedicated to Research and Development and Innovation (R&D+I) activities, recognized by the Portuguese National System of Science and Technology (SCTN) by Fundação para a Ciência e Tecnologia (FCT).
NOVA.ID.FCT based at the Faculty of Science and Technology of the NOVA University Lisbon (FCT NOVA) acts as the legal front institution of research units, from different scientific fields, carrying out research work and managing financial and administratively R&D+I projects promoted by FCT NOVA. This interface entity organizes qualified human resources training and consulting expertise, and knowledge dissemination and technology transfer activities.
Role in INGREEN:
- Characterizing paper mill and whey side streams using Raman and / or near-infrared (NIR) spectroscopy combined with the corresponding physico-chemical data
- Developing spectroscopy-based models to predict the PHA content of biomass
- Extracting PHA from the PHB/ PHV enriched biomasses and characterizing the purified PHA
- Optimizing of the extraction and purification methods
