INGREEN Project at the EFFoST2020 Online conference

INGREEN Project participated in the 34th EFFoST Online conference by taking part in the Special session dedicated to “Valorisation of side streams”. Narinder Bains, the project coordiantor (iNeuvo Ltd, UK), discussed ‘Finding new ways to valorise industrial side streams for use in food, feed, cosmetics and packaging’. This BBI project will produce functional innovative ingredients from paper and agro-food by-products through sustainable and efficient tailor-made biotechnological processes for food, feed, pharma and cosmetics.

Every year the European Federation of Food Science and Technology (EFFoST) organises this prestigious academic food science and technology conference to facilitate knowledge and technology exchange among food professionals and to promote connection and collaboration between food scientists and technologists.

This year the EFFoST2020 conference “Bridging hi-tech, food-tech and health: Consumer oriented innovations” was held online, due to the COVID-19 pandemic and associated health concerns. More than 500 delegates from all over the world attended EFFoST2020, where world-renowned researchers, scientists, policy makers, professionals and students from multidisciplinary food-related fields participated and shared the latest developments. The conference offered 25+ sessions, 9 plenary talks, 90+ expert talks, 300+ poster presentations, working group meetings, and EU projects and associations in special sessions alongside official scientific programme.
